Morocco and Libya signed a cooperation protocol in the field of maritime fishing and aquaculture at the Halieutis 2025 fair in Agadir. This agreement, which was signed by Foreign Minister for Maritime Fisheries, Zakia Driouich and the Libyan Minister of Sea Resources, aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries under the leadership of their respective guides.
The protocol determines a structuring framework for close cooperation in the sustainable treatment of fishing resources and the development of the blue economies. The two countries have focused on the strategic importance of fishing and aquaculture for nutritional security as well as economic and social development.
The main measures include training, experts from specialist knowledge, joint research as well as the improvement of the transformation and marketing of seafood.
