Alphonso Davies has signed his future for Bayern Munich and signed a new contract with the Bundesliga Champions.
After the deal was announced on Tuesday, it effectively ended Real Madrid’s longer interest in the Canadian star.
Davies will keep the new agreement in the Allianz Arena until the end of the 2029-30 season and will be an eleven-year term with the association if he looks to the full contract.
“I am very happy to have extended my contract in this great club,” said Davies in a statement.
“I came to Bayern at the age of 18 and wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position. Now I’m looking forward to another five years. I’ve already achieved a lot here, but more will come. “

His prior contract was supposed to take place in June 2025, and Madrid had hoped to either negotiate a transmission fee or to bring it free of charge this summer.
Despite Madrid’s interest, Bayern was determined to keep Davies, which offered him an improved contract to secure his stay in Munich.
“Alphonso Davies has become one of the best players in the world in his position in Bavaria and sparked a lot of interest,” said the sports director of Bavaria, Christoph Freund, Bavaria.
“The fact that he wants to continue here with us shows the status of Bavaria in international football and that Alphonso found his sports house in Munich.”
This season Davies introduced in 16 Bundesliga games under coach Vincent Kompany and found the network once and helped Bavaria to keep her place at the top of the table.
Davies originally came to Bavaria from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019 and has since developed into one of the leading left players in the world.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is still looking for reinforcements to the left -back due to uncertainties around Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
The Spanish Giants have the history of securing top talents for free transfers, with recent examples such as Kylian Mbappe in 2024, Antonio Rudiger in 2022 and David Alaba from Bavaria 2021.
