From today, Friday, January 31, Openai officially exhibits its latest O3-Mini model. The company the news divided into a blog post on his website withA little more than a month after the model was officially announced during its “12 days Openaai”.
As with every refreshing generative AI model, O3-Mini is not as much improvement compared to O1 mini-but as much as you might think. According to Openaai, the two models in mathematics, coding and natural sciences can do the same, but O3-mini offers faster answers to user inquiries-24% faster in A/B tests. According to the company, testers that compare the models result in “o3-mini”, “more precise and clear answers with stronger argumentation skills”. And with “medium justification”, O3-Mini O1 corresponds to the argumentation and intelligence reviews.
Like O1-Mini, O3-Mini is an argumentation model, a kind of AI model that “thinks” before you react to it. Depending on the application, O3-Mini has three different argumentation efforts: low, medium and high. At the mathematics tests, for example, O1-Mini from O3-Mini is created, while high efforts O1 (the more powerful version of O1-Mini) even outperform. All three efforts defeated O1-Mini in scientific questions at PHD level, but O1 exceeds them all.
O3-Mini replaces the O1 mini model for all users. Openaai does not expressly state why you cannot use O1-Mini in the future, but works that O3-Mini has higher installment limits and lower latency than the previous model.
At the start, only chatt plus, team and pro user can access O3-MINI. According to Openaai, Enterprise users can access the model in a week. (In addition, plus and team users will find that their daily tariff restrictions jump from 50 messages to O1-Mini to 150 messages.)
However, free users can try out free O3-Mini in a limited capacity by either selecting the “argument” option in the news composer or regenerating an answer. Openaai says it is the first time that free users in Chatgpt had access to an argumentation model that comes a day after Microsoft offered Copilot users to the O1 argument free of charge.
