A total of 122 cases of measles were recorded in Moroccan criminal authorities, including 105 healings, which have announced the general delegation to prison administration and the reintegration (DGAPR). So far, seven cases have remained in quarantine in the local prison of Tanger 2 and Souk El Arba, while other isolated cases in Mohammedia, El Arjat 2, Bourkaiz (FEZ), OUED ZEM and AZROU were identified.
At the same time, 13 employees of the prison employee were also infected, eight are now being restored. In view of this situation, the DGAPR increased its efforts to curb the spread of the disease in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
As part of the prevention campaign, 62,145 prisoners and 1,901 civil servants benefited from voluntary vaccination under the supervision of the delegations of provincial health. This initiative is part of a more comprehensive strategy that aims to limit the spread of measles within criminal authorities.
The DGAPR ensures that all prisons are still fully mobilized to take the health protocols into force and to protect prisoners and employees. Close surveillance is maintained in coordination with the Ministry of Surveillance in order to adapt the health measures according to the development of the situation.
