Lyon made the former AC Miland manager Paulo Fonseca the new head coach just one month after leaving the San Siro.
The 51-year-old Fonseca signed a two and a half year contract with the Ligue 1 Club and replaces Pierre Sage.
Lyon released Sage at the beginning of this week, but after a 1-1 draw with Ludogorets in her last group phase game on Thursday in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The club is sixth in the Top light in French, after he had only made one win in the last five league games and had left the French Cup after a defeat by the French fifth club Bourgoin-Jallieu.
“Olympique Lyonnais is very pleased to announce the appointment of Paulo Fonseca as head coach of the professional team until June 30, 2027,” said Lyon in a statement.
“This decision that John Textor and the entire sports management unanimously made is part of the desire to give Olympique Lyonnais a strong ambition to give both in the national and the European scene.”
Fonseca was released in Milan’s job after only six months. Previously, he headed Lille in Ligue 1 and led her to fourth place last season.
He won the Portuguese super cup with Porto in 2013, the Portugal Cup with Braga in 2015-16 and the Ukrainian Premier League with Shakhtar three times in a row.
His first game for Lyon will be her trip to Marseille on Sunday.
