Bill Gates looks back on his divorce Melinda Gates after more than two decades together.

“I encouraged Melinda to be a little quieter than my mom, but we were both pretty ambitious,” he told the outlet. “I spent more time with the children than my father, but the ratio was still 10:1, with Melinda doing most of the things for the children. We had a great time.”
The tech mogul added: “There’s something wonderful about spending your entire adult life with one person because of the memories and the depth of the things you’ve done and the children you’ve had together.” When Melinda and I met, I was pretty successful, but not ridiculously successful – that happened during the time we were together. So she got through me a lot of times.”
Bill and Melinda met in 1987 when she started working for his Microsoft company. After tying the knot, the former couple founded a joint nonprofit organization of the same name. Melinda has left the organization after the couple’s divorce.
“When we got divorced, it was tough and then she made the decision to leave the foundation – I was disappointed that she took the option to leave,” Bill recalled The times.
Additionally, he calls the divorce, which was settled in August 2021, one of his biggest failures in adulthood.
“You should put that at the top of the list,” Bill said of his list of shortcomings. “There are others, but none that are important. The divorce matter was a torment for me and Melinda for at least two years.”
