Liverpool expect to at least maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League when they host Ipswich Town at Anfield this afternoon.
Arne Slot’s side were not at their best in their last two games – against Brentford last weekend and Lille on Tuesday night – but won both games, a hallmark of champions.
They face an Ipswich side struggling for wins, although their recruitment efforts show no signs of slowing down.
Kieran McKenna’s men were hopelessly outclassed by Manchester City last weekend, losing 6-0 and will be hoping they do better against another Premier League great.

Slot made five changes from the side that beat Lille in midweek, with Darwin Nunez, the hero at the Gtech Community Stadium last Saturday, dropping to the bench.
Cody Gakpo returns, as does Alexis Mac Allister in midfield, with Curtis Jones making way.
There are three changes at the back: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate come in for Conor Bradley, Kostas Tsimikas and Jarell Quansah.
