Nuno Espirito Santo has laughed off speculation linking Nottingham Forest with Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.
Forest have been linked with the Brazilian striker as they look to strengthen their forward line in their surprise push for a European place this season.
But when asked about rumors linking the Tricky Trees with the Brazilian, who has scored 10 league goals for the struggling Wolves this season, Nuno dismissed those claims.
“I don’t know anything about that,” said the Forest boss ahead of the Reds’ trip to Bournemouth. “How can I say anything about this? I’m so sorry to disappoint you.”
Forest have also been linked with Brentford striker Yoane Wissa, who has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season.
Pressed more on Forest’s January transfer plans, Nuno added: “We are working. The club is working, above all, to keep our players here.
“That’s because this is the squad we have and these are the players who will solve all our problems. It is not easy to operate in this market and because we only consider options that improve us, it is not easy.
“It’s a difficult market for all teams. That’s why I say we’ll do it the other way around and keep our players here.”
Forest’s European push
Forest currently sit third in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool, having won seven of their last eight league games.
Commenting on their excellent season so far, the Portuguese coach added: “We are happy and satisfied with the performance of the players because they are very committed, they work very hard and we are very competitive.” The big challenge that lies ahead is there in maintaining this level of performance.
“Nobody expected us or foresaw this situation, but it’s because of the bond – they help each other not only in training but also during games.
“The way we operate as a team. It’s no surprise because we are demanding, but the expectations are clearly there for everyone to see.”

A sign of the good mood at the City Ground is currently the signing of central defender Murrilo on a new contract after his impressive season so far alongside Nikola Milenkovic.
Speaking about the Brazilian defender, Nuno said: “We are happy that he will stay here long-term. He is a player with immense talent and can improve tremendously given his age.
“He came to us last season and there are improvements. As long as he stays healthy and available, he will be great for us.”
Star striker Chris Wood, who has scored 14 league goals this season, is also expected to sign a new contract in the future.
On ongoing talks with the New Zealand striker, Nuno said: “I think things are going well but I can’t give any further details.”
News about forest violations
The Forest manager says winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is a doubt for his trip to the south coast this weekend.
Nuno said: “He felt his groin, it was very tight and he was in a lot of pain. He has been out for a few days and we have to assess whether he is available or not.”
