It’s high time for Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, as both teams are fighting for a place in the playoffs of the newly designed Champions League.
PSG start the evening in 26th place, one point and two places behind City who occupy last place, which would mean their European adventure continues for another month.
These two big-spending clubs – both supported by funds from the Middle East – would not have imagined this situation at the start of the season.
News about the Paris Saint-Germain team
The big news for the home side is the return of central defender and captain Marquinhos after a thigh injury.
The Brazilian, who missed his weekend win in Lens, comes in for Lucas Beraldo.
There were two further changes: Achraf Hakimi and Joao Neves came in for Lucas Hernandez and Warren Zaire-Emery.
PSG: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes, Ruiz, Neves, Vitinha, Lee, Doue, Barcola
Manchester City team news
Pep Guardiola made two changes to the side that won 6-0 at Ipswich on Sunday, one of which was forced by the absence of Jeremy Doku through injury.
Doku put in an excellent performance at Portman Road at the weekend but suffered a breakdown which meant he was unable to travel to Paris. Savinho comes on for the Belgian winger.
Otherwise, Bernardo Silva is preferred to Ilkay Gündogan in midfield.
Matheus Nunes remains at right-back.
Manchester City: Ederson, Nunes, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, De Bruyne (centre), Bernardo, Savinho, Foden, Haaland
