Meagan Good spoke to “God” during Jonathan Major’s assault trial

After Majors was found guilty of assault, the lovebirds were under public scrutiny, but Good didn’t let negative opinions affect her love for her boyfriend.

Good and Majors announced their engagement in style while walking the red carpet at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles in November 2024.

Good and her “Harlem” cast were guests on “The Breakfast Club” on Friday to promote the third and final season of the Amazon Prime Video series.

During the show, co-host Jess Hilarious Good asked if it was “a lot” to stand by Majors’ side during his trial, especially given the public scrutiny and bad press that came with it.

In her response, Good explained that her faith in God helped her overcome the difficult situation.

She said: “Literally I was talking to God… and I knew exactly where I was supposed to be. And I’ve learned that not only do things not always make sense to me, but sometimes they even make sense.” That doesn’t make sense to other people.

The actress continued, “That’s fine as long as you’re in tune with God and trust the path you’re on… and the more I’ve done that, the happier I’ve been.”

Good also commented on her relationship and her state of happiness. She said: “I don’t know when I’ve ever been so happy. Well, I think I would have been a child.”

As Good and majorsAs the relationship progressed, rumors emerged that it was a publicity stunt. However, Good’s co-star Jerrie Johnson has put an end to these speculations.

Johnson revealed that she lived with Good during the early stages of her and Majors’ relationship and recalled how the “Day Shift” actress felt about her boyfriend.

Johnson shared, “I remember Meagan coming back to the house and saying, ‘I think I love this man.’ That was before everything happened. People don’t understand how advertising works if they think Meagan doesn’t need this kind of attention – she’s been doing it for 30 years.

Before her relationship with Majors began, Good was married to Columbia Pictures executive DeVon Franklin. They tied the knot in June 2012 but announced their separation in 2021 before finalizing their divorce in June 2022.

The co-hosts of “The Breakfast Club” asked Good if her divorce from Franklin made her no longer want to get married again.

She replied, “I’m a very optimistic person…I really trust God even when…I don’t understand it…I have to trust that God knows what it is and what it’s supposed to be and God will take care of it.” take care of everything.

Good admitted that there were times when she questioned God, but expressed gratitude for her divorce experience.

She shared, “As I sit here today, I am grateful for every part of this experience. I’m grateful for every part of the journey, for every single thing that I went through, be it that, man, just everything on the journey made me better, made me stronger.”

During her appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” co-host Charlamagne Tha God Good asked if Majors had proposed to her by asking her to be his “Coretta,” in reference to the actor previously saying, that she held him like a Coretta (Scott-King) during his trial.

Good replied to Charlamagne’s question by proudly saying, “Ummm… he didn’t say that. But I’m his Coretta.”

She further revealed that she and Majors planned to dress up as Coretta and Martin Luther King for Halloween, but decided against it due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

However, she suggested reconsidering the idea next year.

Good’s latest interview comes two months after she and Majors announced their engagement at the Ebony Power Gala in Los Angeles.

The couple, whose romance was confirmed in May 2023, told the world that they had taken a big step in their relationship while walking the red carpet at the event.

Good boldly declared that she and Majors were in love before calling him “the one.”

She then showed off a stunning diamond ring, drawing cheers from the paparazzi.
