Arsenal against Tottenham, Everton against Aston Villa, Newcastle against Wolves and Leicester City against Crystal Palace were the focus of the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Magpies started the evening in fifth place and were looking to extend their winning streak to nine games in all competitions against opponents who had moved out of the relegation zone under new coach Vitor Pereira.

Second from bottom Leicester had lost their last five league games but beat second division QPR 6-2 at home in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, while 15th-placed Palace started seven points clear of the Foxes.

Newcastle against Wolves: Isak scores again

Wolves, who are behind fourth-bottom Ipswich Town on goal difference and have a game less to play after that 3-0 defeat, went close when Jorgen Strand Larsen’s first-time shot hit the post shortly after Isak’s first shot, but the Swede Striker added his second goal with a pass from Bruno Guimaraes after 57 minutes.
Isak then turned provider, setting up Anthony Gordon, who put the contest all but beyond doubt with a third goal for the hosts 16 minutes from time, although Wolves were then denied a goal due to a handball after Santiago Bueno scored from a corner struck from close range.

Leicester vs Palace: Eagles effortlessly claim victory
Leicester have lost six league games in a row and are two points from safety, although they might have taken the lead had Jamie Vardy not been uncharacteristically ruthless in the first half.
Jean-Philippe Mateta provided his last confident finish with Palace’s first shot on goal in the 52nd minute from a pass from Jakub Stolarczyk and scored.

Palace rose above Manchester United to 14th place and are unbeaten in five games in all competitions, the only defeat in the last ten league games coming against Arsenal.
