Long drive in the beautiful morning – BionicOldGuy

Yesterday I drove along country roads east of Morgan Hill through San Martin to Gilroy. I was sitting on my electric assisted recumbent bike. The wind was light, so I was able to maintain an average speed of just under 20 miles per hour, an exhilarating, brisk pace. 27 miles were covered in just over 90 minutes. I enjoyed seeing our green hills through the recent rain.

We are lucky that our vegetation is not so dry up here in the north. Our friends to the south weren’t so lucky, as it’s much drier down there and strong Santa Ana winds blew with warm, dry air, making the fires worse. I don’t know anyone personally who has lost their home, but we are thinking about those who have. Firefighters from up here have come out to help, just like the firefighters from Southern California have helped us in the past. We’re all in this together.
