The week-long Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 speedrunning marathon concluded in the early hours of Sunday morning, with a total of $2,556,305 raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, according to organizers.
As you might expect, the Pittsburgh event featured a good mix of skill and silliness: there was one Crazy taxi Speedrun with live band; FunkopotamusWes played the piano during his run New Super Mario Bros. Wiiby using his head and feet to control the game via motion controls; and Dr. Doot has one Elden Ring Bosses speedrun with an electric saxophone. Yes, the saxophone didn’t help much Doot doot sounds all the time.
The marathon ran continuously from January 5th to 12th, so there are many, many more great moments to catch up on if you missed it. Everything can be found on the Games Done Quick YouTube channel.
AGDQ is one of several charity events that Games Done Quick hosts each year, and the next, Back to black comes in February. The event (February 6-9) will spotlight Black hosts and speedrunners and raise money for racial justice nonprofit Race Forward. Over the years, Games Done Quick has raised more than $54 million for various charities, including the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. AGDQ raised about $2.5 million during his marathon last year too.
