The city of Marrakesh will soon have a new convention center. This project was the subject of a recent meeting at the Wilaya headquarters of the Marrakesh-Safi region.
This project is among the strategic initiatives that are part of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. are aimed at modernizing the Kingdom’s infrastructure in order to strengthen Marrakech’s position as a renowned tourist, economic and cultural destination, says a press release from the Wilaya. The new Palais des Congrès will provide modern spaces and facilities for organizing international conferences and major exhibitions, contributing to the influence of Marrakesh and Morocco as host countries of major world events. This project will also have direct and indirect positive impacts on various sectors.
During this meeting chaired by the Wali of the Marrakesh-Safi Region, the Governor of the Prefecture of Marrakesh, Farid Chourak, in the presence of the CEO of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), the President of the Regional Council and the representatives of the external services concerned emphasized the importance of coordination between the various stakeholders to ensure the completion of this project on time and in accordance with international quality standards.
