Accordingly, the authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Kyren Lacy ESPN. Police are accusing the potential 2025 NFL Draft pick of allegedly fleeing the scene without offering help. PEOPLE has identified the victim as 78-year-old Herman Hall, a former Marine from Thibodaux, Louisiana.
State Police report that on December 17, Kyren Lacy was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed on the Louisiana Highway. They allege Lacy “recklessly overtook multiple vehicles, crossed the center line into the northbound lane and entered a no-passing zone at an unsafe speed.”
Lacy was allegedly passing other vehicles when a northbound pickup truck suddenly braked and swerved to avoid a collision. According to ESPN, a 2017 Kia Cadenza was driving behind the pickup. The driver of the Cadenza turned left to avoid Lacy in the Dodge Charger, which crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento. Herman Hall was the passenger in the southbound Kia Sorento and later died as a result of the accident. ESPN also reports that the driver of the Cadenza suffered moderate injuries.
