The former couple’s marriage was plagued by divorce rumors early last year after they weren’t photographed together for weeks.

In August, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Nearly six months after the singer filed for divorce from Affleck, the two have settled their divorce through mediation, avoiding a court battle.

It officially marks the end of their relationship after a stormy rekindling of romance in 2021 and two weddings in 2022.

Following their divorce agreement, an insider revealed: InTouch that Affleck and Lopez never intended to be petty with each other and remain friends.

“Jennifer and Ben are officially divorced, and the only silver lining is that they never got ugly. Many thought that their lawyers would handle the nasty little things for each of them, but both decided to leave the marriage as amicably as possible. ” the source told the news agency.

The insider further noted that while the former couple had “a lot at stake,” they were determined not to fight over their assets.

“Ben and Jennifer had no intention of insulting each other; they respected each other far too much for that,” the source noted. “I’m not saying it never crossed their minds, it just wasn’t worth it. They have too much history in common. They actually broke up as friends.”

While most details of the former couple’s divorce settlement remain confidential, the Daily Mail has reported that Lopez will keep the engagement ring Affleck gave her when he proposed.

The stunning piece features a large green diamond in the center, flanked by two elongated baguette diamonds, with a matching pair of trapezoid-shaped diamonds on either side.

The Accountant star reportedly paid around $5.6 million for it when he bought it, and its value has likely increased since then.

Accordingly TMZLopez kept her engagement ring and left with all the other jewelry Affleck bought for her during their marriage.

The former couple consulted prominent lawyer Laura Wasser to finalize their divorce without going to court. Since there was no prenuptial agreement, extensive mediation was required to determine who got what.

It is now understood that Lopez will keep all of the income she has earned since their split in April 2024. She will also drop Affleck’s last name and revert to her own on all of her official documents.

Meanwhile, Affleck will not give up his shares in his production company Artists Equity, which he founded with his close friend Matt Damon.

As for their $61 million Bel Air mansion in Los Angeles, the former couple will split the profits once it’s sold. The property has been on the market since last July but has yet to attract a committed buyer despite the duo listing it.

Despite their breakup, Lopez and Affleck remained friendly. They have been seen together several times since filing for divorce, partly because they needed to mediate their separation.

Most recently, Lopez visited Affleck before the Golden Globe ceremony and was seen hugging his 12-year-old son Samuel.

Last December, she also reunited with her former lover and exchanged gifts to celebrate the holidays.

“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives, even if they aren’t romantically involved,” an insider told Page Six of the duo’s ongoing connection.

The source also claimed that the former couple still “communicate when it comes to their children,” referring to their former partners’ children.

Lopez has two children, Emme and Max, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with Jennifer Garner.

As the dust settles on her divorce, Lopez appears to be focused on her own life. In a recent interview, she hinted at her plans for the new year and revealed her intentions.

According to the actress, she plans to “expand my creative boundaries and see where that takes me.” Daily Mail.

These plans reportedly extend to all of her ventures, “whether it’s acting or music or producing or expanding JLo Beauty.”

She added: “I want to continue to challenge myself to evolve and try new things while staying true to who I am and those I love.”

Lopez also deliberately left Affleck out of her 2024 review, instead choosing to highlight special moments of her year, like cover shoots, appearances, premiere appearances and awards shows.
