WWE Legend Reveals Incredible Story About The Undertaker in Iraq (Exclusive)
The Undertaker dominated WWE for 30 years. His feuds against the likes of Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and others brought him to the upper echelons of the industry. There is no denying that the stories surrounding “Taker” are legendary.
Speaking during a recent episode of What did they think? To Backstage passJBL recalled an incredible story about the Undertaker in Iraq. The Hall of Famers said they had their photos taken at Saddam Hussein’s palace during their tour of Baghdad, Iraq:
“I mean, we stayed in Saddam Hussein’s palace. There’s a famous picture of me and The Undertaker on Saddam Hussein’s throne. There it is, palace.” (from 09:33)
Elsewhere in the podcast, JBL revealed that he and The Undertaker were asked to play golf by US soldiers on Saddam Hussein’s porch during WWE’s visit to Iraq in the 2000s:
Will John Cena break Ric Flair’s record? A former WCW champion thinks so HERE
“We are in Saddam Hussein’s palace and in Iraq. We are rare, we have rarely been in the Green Zone. We always stayed in the forward operating bases. And so I got the Undertaker and said: Do you want to be there? I’m thinking, and I don’t know what’s going on, but something is happening. And the soldier had gotten some golf balls from the USO and sent us out to Hussein’s porch and said, “Could you hit some golf balls with this?” And I say, you’re right, I will. On one of the best days of my life, we sat out there hitting golf balls on Saddam Hussein’s lake. (From 11:45 p.m.)
While JBL didn’t reveal who won the golf game, the former WWE Champion apparently had a great time.
