The regional sports league for people with disabilities in the Oriental, Fes-Meknes and Draa-Tafilalet regions held its ordinary elective general meeting for the 2023-2024 season. During this session, Adil Badreddine Essalbi was reappointed President for a new four-year term, with a list of members of the Government Office being unanimously approved.
The meeting also confirmed the moral and financial reports and presented an ambitious annual plan focused on developing sports activities and strengthening organizational capacity. This program includes, in particular, a regional football championship for the deaf, a regional pétanque championship and training for athletics referees.
In his speech, Essalbi emphasized the importance of teamwork and mutual trust in meeting the expectations of sports associations and affiliated athletes. He stressed the need for effective governance to ensure the sustainability and impact of the projects initiated by the League.
Participants also praised the remarkable achievements of Moroccan athletes at the recent Paralympic Games in Paris and highlighted the crucial role of regional structures in preparing and supporting sporting talents with disabilities.
