51 men found guilty in rape trial that horrified France
Dominique Pelicot, who admitted drugging and raping his wife for nearly a decade and inviting dozens of strangers to his home, was found guilty Thursday of aggravated rape and other charges and sentenced to a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The court also convicted the 50 other defendants, most of them for rape. Catherine Porter, a New York Times reporter, followed the four-month trial and reports from Avignon.
