Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry remains one of the most recognizable figures in the NBA.
While Curry continues to perform at a high level on the basketball court, he is also 36 years old and will be completing his 16th season in the league next spring. Although four times as much NBA champion Curry has admitted that he is much closer to the end of his career than the beginning, and he says he can enjoy living in the moment.
“More than I probably had before,” he said during one Sit down with ESPN as he discussed his NBA future. “I think, you know, it’s okay to accept and acknowledge that the end is near, no matter what point. But only because it allows you to enjoy what is happening. But I think the more you talk about it, the more you realize it, it just adds to the sense of urgency of the moment.”

While Curry didn’t give a specific number for the number of seasons left, he made it clear that his will to win remains strong.

“It’s about recognizing, okay, me and (Warriors teammate) Draymond (Green) are in our prime. We’re, you know, in a situation where you have to look at the game a little bit differently.” But if you don’t win, the answer is, “How do we make this happen for me?” I only have a certain number of years left , and I really want to win. Yeah, that’s a funny term because that’s what people say, and what’s the actual answer? to find out,” he said.
Curry was a big part of that the warriors recent run to three NBA titles in four seasons. Golden State won its fourth NBA Finals with Curry in 2022. He has also won two league MVP trophies and is a 10-time NBA All-Star.
The Warriors’ 2024-25 season got off to a strong start as the team posted a record of 12-3. But Golden State faces them on Christmas Day Los Angeles Lakers with a record of 15-13 and is currently in eighth place in the Western Conference.

The Warriors failed to qualify for the playoffs last season after being defeated in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Curry and his teammates want to avoid a repeat of that this season, and the February trade deadline could prove crucial to their hopes for the 2024-25 season.
The Christmas Day game between the Warriors and Lakers is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET.
