After being sacked by Plymouth Argyle due to poor results, Wayne Rooney is set to take on a role on Match of the Day as one of their regular pundits.
The former Man United and Everton legend – and Red Devils record goalscorer – was recently James Maddison voted him the greatest Premier League player of all time.

Rooney wishes he played for Celtic However, things didn’t work out during his career, nor did his managerial stints at Derby County, DC United, Birmingham City and Plymouth.
Having previously successfully worked as a pundit when his management services were not called upon, it is perhaps no surprise that he could now become a regular pundit on the revamped Match of the Day.

The sun Note that he could be paid up to £200,000 for his work with the program, and the outlet quotes a source as saying;
““Expertise is one of several options Wayne has open to the future Future. He worked with Gary (Lineker) and Co. at the European Championships last summer and was a huge hit with the public.
“He is also extremely personable, has forensic knowledge and loves the game.

“Wayne and the BBC are in the early stages of negotiations but things are looking promising and he needs some time to work out exactly what he wants to do next.”
If there’s one thing you can’t blame Rooney for in terms of expertise, it’s that it’s vanilla.
The 39-year-old is rarely on the fence with an opinion or two, and in that sense he is an interesting observer.
