Raja Casablanca terminates coach Ricardo Sá Pinto’s contract due to poor results

Raja Club Athletic announced on Friday that it had parted ways with Portuguese coach Ricardo Sá Pinto following disappointing results since his appointment at the start of this season.

Club officials confirmed that the termination came after extensive negotiations, with Sá Pinto agreeing to leave without paying any penalty. Instead, he will receive two months’ salary as compensation, the club said.

The decision is due to poor form, which saw the team led by Sá Pinto win just two of eleven games, along with three defeats and six draws. Raja currently sits seventh in the Moroccan Botola Pro standings with 20 points after securing a 2-1 win over Union Touarga in a rescheduled Round 13 match on Thursday.

The club has appointed interim coach Hafid Abdel Sadeq to look after the team while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.

The Raja leadership, led by president Adil Halla, faced increasing pressure from fans after failing to produce consistent results this season.
