After recent setbacks such as sciatica, my training is finally back on track. I’ll try to post more often now, I think I was a bit at the end, maybe because I was a bit discouraged. I’m doing a lot of PT, stretching and strengthening the muscles in my lower back and hips so hopefully there won’t be any more relapses. I’m back to training on average about two hours per day, including cycling, upper body strength training, and strength training. So far, so good!
On Friday I rode my stationary bike to the Coyote Creek Trail, but rode the stationary bike on the nearby dirt roads instead of the paved path. These see very little use, I believe they are more for riding, but they are also great for bikes as long as the tires are wide enough. I can stand upright for longer periods of time again, which I think is a fun alternative to sitting.
Yesterday we went back to the recumbent bike for a tour into the hills southwest of the city. Driving at a decent speed of around 30km/h with some electric assistance is exhilarating.
