Azerbaijan mourns 38 dead in plane crash as investigation begins

Azerbaijan marked a day of mourning on Thursday for the victims of a plane crash in Kazakhstan that killed 38 people and injured 29 survivors as investigations began. Azerbaijan Airlines initially said a flock of birds may have caused the crash before retracting that statement, while Russia sought to play down speculation that the plane may have been shot down accidentally.
