We are less than 24 hours away from Super Bowl Lix, and some NFL fans have already passed into the 2025-26 season.
Super Bowl LX will take place on February 8, 2026 in Santa Clara, California, and there are already some teams that should appear as favorites in this game. The Philadelphia Eagles are ready to take another run at Lombardi Trophy. Although they have suffered a beatdown, the chiefs are always a threat to win the Super Bowl as long as Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are together.
When franchise companies are already looking at Super Bowl LX, we find that the four teams are most likely to appear in the big game of the next year.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have a legitimate shot to win two consecutive titles.
Jalen Hurts is still under contract, while Saquon has another season before Philly has a potential opt-out after 2026. If he then did numbers like this season, I expect to sign a contract extension with the Eagles soon. In the meantime, four of their five offensive lines for tunnels are under contract for at least another year, which means that the Eagles can trace it in 2025 with the best offensive line in the NFL.
You have to make some business decisions on the defensive side of the ball. I assume that LineBacker Zack Baun will sign a high contract extension in this low season after led by Philly during the regular season and the playoffs in Tackles. The defensive Linemen Josh Sweat and Milton Williams have also earned renewed contracts with the way they played in the Super Bowl.
Philly has to replace some backups/meaningful participants on both sides of the ball. Offensive Lineman Mekhi Becton, defensive end Brandon Graham, who runs back Kenneth Gainwell, and Linebacker Oren Burks are to become free agents this low season. Nevertheless, I am confident that the Eagles will find a solid replacement for all of these boys.
With the most important parts and trainers of Philly who will stay in the team in the next few years, you should fight for a super bowl in 2025-26.
Kansas City Chiefs
Just because the chiefs have lost Super Bowl Lix does not mean that they are not in line to fight for Super Bowl LX. In fact, I would argue that the chiefs 2025-26 will be a greater threat to the win of the Super Bowl than the chiefs 2024-25 because they will be motivated to forget people the blowout they suffered last night.
Patrick Mahomes is under contract with the chiefs for at least the next three years. In the meantime, head coach Andy Reid signed an expansion in the off -season, which will keep it in KC by 2029, unless he decides to withdraw beforehand. Since these two still lead the indictment, the chiefs are a threat to make the Super Bowl every year, just like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick for the New England Patriots.
At the same time, the all-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones should play at least two more seasons for KC, so the best defensive player from Chiefs will return next season. In addition, Travis Kelce will probably return to the team in 2025-26. These are two massively important contributors who came back Kansas City next year.
The chiefs must be active in the free agency and in the design. Six of their most productive broad recipients and running backs are said to be free agents in this low season. You also have to find out whether you want to bring back the offensive Lineman Trey Smith and LineBacker Nick Bolton.
If you support your skill position groups, sign bolton and carry out some upgrades along the offensive line, there is no reason why KC 2026 cannot reach a fourth super bowl.
Detroit Lions
Although I am a fan of Green Bay Packers, I will be the first to admit that I thought that the Detroit Lions would run away with the NFC. Despite all their injuries, they still managed to record most victories in a single season in the franchise story at the age of 15. Unfortunately, the injuries and the poor preparation of the offensive and defensive coordinators from Detroit in the division round of the NFL playoffs 2025 caught up with them. If people like the defensive Linemen Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeil had been played against the Washington Cammanders, this game might have been different.
The Lions have lost the two best coordinators in the NFL, but many of the other keys from 2024-25 will still be available next season. Head coach Dan Campbell, Quarterback Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, offensive lineman Penei Sewell and Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown will be back in Detroit next year. You will also receive several defensive participants, including LineBacker Jack Campbell, Cornerback Amik Robertson, Safety Kerby Joseph and LineBacker Alex Anzalone.
Aidan Hutchinson will play a major role in the success of the Lions next year. If he can appear next year as he played before he broke his leg, he could possibly win the price for the defensive player of the year. This type of contribution would be invaluable for a team that just gave up 45 points in the playoffs.
There must be some replacements during the entire squad. With Carlton Davis III, Kindle Vildor, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Khalil Dorsey and Emmanuel Mosley, the Lions must either sign some of these boys again or replace them with the design and the free agency. You also have to add an offensive lead depth, with Kevin Zeitler and Dan Skipper testing the Free Agent Market.
It is even more important that Detroit has to compensate for production that you have lost in the defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator. If the former coordinator of the Denver Broncos Passing Games John Morton and the former coach of Detroit Linebackers, Kelvin Sheppard, can keep their own as Play-Callers, then the Lions are in a first-class position to get around the Super Bowl in 2026 battle.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo bills are right there with the chiefs of Kansas City in the middle of the Super Bowl hunt, but they could not overcome the hump yet. Nevertheless, they should be seen as one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LX.
Quarterback Josh Allen had the best year of his career with only three Probowlers on the squad (two of which were offensive linema). Now it is in General Manager Brandon Beane to surround everyone with talent. James Cook is the second best offensive weapon who have the bills, but after him there is a great decline in skills. It does not help that Buffalo’s number two recipients Mack Hollins should be a free agent this low season. No. 2 that runs back, Ty Johnson will also be a free agent. In addition, Amari Cooper, the Wideout for which they were traded in the middle of the season, will probably test the freelance agency this spring. There is a random that Buffalo will lose three important offensive participants in this low season, which they cannot afford.
Although they have to spend a lot on the freelance agency and use their design of capital carefully to give Josh more weapons to all, the invoices have to improve defensively. After Buffalo had two defensive Pro Bowlers in 2023, in the last two seasons he had only one defender named All-Pro or Pro Bowler (Cornerback Taron Johnson was appointed the second team All-Pro last year). This is not good enough for a team that tries to win a super bowl.
Buffalo has to carry out a few lively movements in this low season. It would be the type of decision that the complexion of this team and the AFC as a whole could change to trade for Clleveland’s Myles Garrett or Las Vegas’ Maxx Crosby. It couldn’t hurt to sign a real recipient number one such as Cincinattis Tea Higgins or New York Davante Adams.
Buffalo should fight for a super bowl next season if they do not carry out any of the above movements. However, they would be considered a much more serious threat to raise the Lombardi trophy if you can bring in one or two another star.
