Thomas Tuchel is preparing to name his first English squad this month, while the three lions begin their trip towards the 2026 World Cup.
During his preliminary term, Lee Carsley set eight new faces in the squad, but more fresh talent is expected under Tuchel’s leadership.
Since the former Chelsea boss was officially taken over by Gareth Southgate in January, he has participated in several games from the Premier League and has been evaluated by potential views.
England was drawn in for the qualification of the World Cup in Group K, where they are faced with Serbia, Andorra, Albania and Latvia.
The campaign begins this month and Tuchel has already started reaching the players to prepare for the upcoming games.
Early player contacts and important absences
Some players have confirmed that they have already spoken to the 51-year-old coach, including Chelseas Noni Madueke and Tottenhams James Maddison.
Tuchel has also recognized that he contacted Arsenal defender Ben White, who has stayed away from England setup since 2022.
However, the Lewis Hall from Newcastle is a name that will definitely be absent because it was excluded due to an injury to the season.

When will Tuchel announce his English squad?
The official squad for the upcoming games against Albania and Latvia will be announced on Thursday, March 13th.
While the exact time does not yet have to be confirmed, the announcement is expected to take place around 2 p.m., followed by a press conference on which Tuchel will discuss its selection.

Tuchel faces several selection headaches, with important players struggling with injuries.

What did FA boss Mark Bullingham say?
Mark Bullingham, the managing director of the football association, praised Tuchel’s commitment to his new role and found an important difference to his predecessor Gareth Southgate – the German manager chose the facility in London and is a common presence in St. George’s Park.
“I think Thomas noticed early on that they did not build these connections in the six days in which they come together, so he made a lot of effort into it,” said Bullingham.
