What kind of level was that?

The plane was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. It is a popular Twin-Aisle jet that is used for longer routes.

The first flight of this aircraft took place in December 2013 and was handed over to Air India in January 2014, according to the aviation data company Cirium.

From Thursday, Air India had 34 of them on duty, including this aircraft, and it had plans to order at least 20 more, said Cirium. The airline has built up its fleet with modern jets from Boeing and rival Airbus and installed more luxurious cabins.

What will the investigators look at?

There were already manufacturing and quality concerns regarding Dreamliners. Are you related?

What does that mean for Boeing?

Boeing CEO Kelly OrtbergWho took over the management last August, worked on moving the manufacturer, a TOP -US exporter, from the spotlight for a number of security and manufacturing crises.

The company was already handled 737 Max -Jets from two accidents of its bestsellers when a door plug was blown out from a new Max 9 in early 2024.

The effects on Boeing will depend on the crash examination. The demand for new aircraft was still robust, and airlines often continue to give orders because the waiting time can stretch for several years.

Wolfe Research announced on Thursday in a note: “We don’t see many direct effects on financial performance, but this is certainly a dynamic until solid clarity is granted.

“As a result, we see no effect on the production ramp and would expect the demand to have an effect very minimally (and localized),” wrote Wolfe. “A modest risk could be a feedback loop for the certification of the (still certified) 777x, but it is very early to take every risk there.”

According to his website, Boeing has orders for 900 other Dreamliners.
