This video of a girl crying over her broken AI chatbot went viral in China. Xiaozhi AI is based on artificial intelligence and can hold long conversations with six-year-old Shisan Hu. The gadget and similar chatbot toys are part of a multi-billion dollar AI toy industry in China that is expected to grow rapidly. What is a Black Hole? So Hu went to the “Character Profile” section of the control panel and wrote down how the toy should interact with Shisan. So the father told the device to focus on teaching English and astronomy. Hu said he considers the chatbot toy a member of the family. For Shisan, Xiaozhi AI is not a toy. The father said one of the best things about the device was that it eliminated a major distraction. After talking to the chatbot every day for a month, it broke. Hu said when he saw his daughter becoming so emotional, he worried that she was clinging to her too much. Eventually, the father decided to repair the toy because he said his attitude toward AI technology was changing.
