Almost three years after completing the trilogy “Jurassic World” by Colin Trevreow, Universal Pictures once again brings the audience back to a world filled with Dino. This time it is “Godzilla” (2014) and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards at the top “Jurassic World Rebirth”, which recently unveiled his first trailer. The film promises a fresh start for the franchise and, above all, many, many dinosaurs. However, these are not the same old dinosaurs. These are even more dangerous.
“These are the dinosaurs who didn’t work. There are some mutations in it” Vanity fair In a preview piece for the film. “They are all based on real dinosaur research, but they look a little different.”
Those who looked at the trailer “Rebirth” probably noted a bizarre dinosaurs who appeared several times and, like everything we saw in these films,. Most of it appears in the dark, only illuminated by torches or hidden behind glass, but it is clear that this is an artificial abrasion with prehistoric influences. But what exactly is this mutated dinosaurs? That is the big, persistent question. At the moment we have some answers, even if the whole picture has not yet come into focus.
“Jurassic World Rebirth” tells a new story that focuses on all new characters. It increases five years after the events of the “Dominion” in 2022, whereby the earth’s ecosystem has proven to be largely for dinosaurs. Those who remain near the equator in isolated environments with climate zones that resemble those who lived them about 65 million years ago. Since the three largest dinosaurs contain the key to a drug in their DNA that can bring life -saving advantages to mankind, a dangerous mission is slipped to get this genetic material from dinosaurs.
What did Gareth Edwards say about the mutated dinosaurs?
The official summary of Universal for “rebirth” also states that its main characters “have been hidden from the world from a dark, shocking discovery of the world for decades”. This seems to be sure to point out this failed experiment by a dinosaurs that we see in the trailer. Edwards, who spoke in the same Vanity Fair piece, spoke a little about the creature and explained that other famous film monsters influenced the appearance of this mysterious animal:
“When you make a creature, you get a large, massive pot and you pour your favorite monsters from other films and books … A rancor went in, an HR giger went in, a small T-Rex went in … “
HR Giger is known for creating the Xenomorphs in the “Alien” franchiseWhich is certainly a terrible place to start. Then there is the Rancor, the “Star Wars” fans as a beast in the basement of Jabbas Palace in “Return of the Jedi”. This is certainly present in the mutated dinosaurs, which we see in the supporters. Add some T-Rex there, which is very present in the arms of the creature, and this thing sounds like a monster in the truest sense of the word.
“This island was the research complex for the original Jurassic Park,” says Zora Bennett von Scarlett Johansson in the trailer “rebirth”. Dr. Henry Loomis by Jonathan Bailey later adds: “These dinosaurs were too dangerous for the original park. The worst of the worst was left here.”
Of course, it is not that dangerous dinosaurs or artificial creatures are new concepts. 2015s “Jurassic World” introduced the concept of hybrid dinosaurs into the franchise, starting with the indominant Rex. Other hybrids such as the Indoraptor later competed in the continuation of the film 2018, “Fallen Kingdom”, with the animation series “Jurassic World: Camp Cradeous”, which explores this idea. Is this mutated dinosaurs an earlier attempt at a hybrid? Or is it something completely different?
What exactly could the mutated dinosaurs in the Jurassic World rebirth?
At the moment there are no clear answers, although it is certainly possible that this mutated dinosaurs is another hybrid. It is also worth emphasizing how Zora emphasizes in the trailer “rebirth” that the characters of the film of this creature in the original research facility for John Hammonds (which was previously played by the late Richard Attenborough) meet First Jurassic Park. This is not page B, also known as Isla Sorna, This was first introduced in Steven Spielberg’s “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” in 1997. This was the place where Hammond’s team first found out how to do dinosaurs. There was undoubtedly a steep learning curve early. Even when Hammond was ready to open his park, not everything went according to plan. Imagine what went wrong in these early days.
In fact, it is possible that this mutated dinosaurs were a failed attempt to bring a real dinosaurs to life. According to Edwards, it contains some T-Rex and it has T-Rex-like arms based on the trailer. Was this an early attempt by the Jurassic Park Genetics team to create a T-Rex that went terribly wrong? This seems to be a way that is based on the information currently available to us. It also seems to be a possibility for “rebirth”, Alan Grants (Sam Neill) “So they play God to” line “from” Jurassic Park III “.
Not too far into the territory of the wild speculation area, but it is worth remembering John Sayles’ abandoned “Jurassic Park 4” script contained human/dinosaur hybrids. Some of the concept sketches for the film made themselves in the online path years ago and it is possible how unlikely that this idea of Edwards and the writer David Koepp was dusted due to “rebirth”. There is far less evidence of this theory, although it shows that universal at least entertained the term that things are really strange with this franchise in the past. We just have to wait and see what you cooked in this laboratory this summer.
“Jurassic World Rebirth” will meet cinemas on July 2, 2025.
