Former Israeli adviser Daniel Levy argues that Israel’s dehumanization of Palestinians is blocking peace efforts in Gaza.
Despite Western and Arab efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, Israel shows no interest in an agreement, argues former Israeli government advisor Daniel Levy.
Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, tells host Steve Clemons that the Israelis are aware of the atrocities they are committing in Gaza, but the thorough dehumanization of Palestinians – coupled with a desire to dispossess them of their land and their human rights – blocks all chance for progress.
The result for Israel, Levy argues, is an Israel that is not accepted in the region, even if some Arab governments “normalize” relations.
