What Hoda Kotb said about her career plans after tonight’s show
Hoda Kotb is ready to start a new chapter after saying goodbye to NBC Today.
The TV personality made the announcement on September 26th Leaving the morning show after almost 30 years of working for the network. “I just turned 60 and it was a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 because I started thinking about this decade: What does this decade mean? What does it hold? “What will it do for me?” she announced on television in tears. “And I realized that at 60 it was time for me to turn the page and try something new.”
Kotb also noted at the time that her role as a mother influenced her decision. “I had my children late in life, and I thought they deserved a bigger piece of my time, the pie that I have,” she explained. “I feel like we only have a limited amount of time. And despite all this, this is the most difficult thing in the world.” (Kotb shares their daughtersHaley and Hope, with ex-fiancée Joel Schiffman.)
Kotb will finish her run Today with a special one “Hoda-bration” episode on January 10th, thereafter Craig Melvin will take on their role as Savannah Guthrie‘s Coanchor. Jenna Bush Hager will Continue to co-host the fourth hour with a rotating group of innkeepers until a permanent replacement is selected.
Today Alums like Katie Couric And Tamron Hall have moved on host their own television shows or switch to other series, e.g Deborah Norville joined in Inside Edition. Although Kotb hasn’t announced any official upcoming projects, she has hinted that the next era of her career could take place both on and off the small screen.

Kotb has not yet announced whether she will take on another TV gig after her Today Exit.
Will Hoda Kotb stay at NBC after “Today”?
Kotb indicated in her exit announcement that she would remain in the “NBC family” for her next career moves, but did not elaborate on the scope of her future with the network.
Will Hoda Kotb venture outside of television after “Today”?
On the October 25 episode of Today with Hoda & JennaKotb revealed that she plans to delve into the world of wellness after her departure Today.
“I don’t know if you’ve ever had a longing, a calling, a desire and you can’t give it up even if you try, because working at NBC is safer. … But sometimes you know there’s something else you want to try in your life,” she explained. “And I was so drawn to the spa because I realized what was happening to me. I tried different things and found that my body was calmer. I got sick less. I felt better. I was a better parent, a better friend, a better sister, a better daughter. And I thought all these little things that I did day after day helped change me inside.”
Kotb continued: “I want to live in wellness. I would like to work in this area. I want to start something. I have things that are percolating inside me that I hope to fully develop soon.”
How will Hoda Kotb spend her free time after “Today”?
In addition to her pursuit of wellness, Kotb continually raves about how she looks forward to more time with her children after she leaves Today. Since Moving outside of New York City Earlier this year, Kotb raved about experiencing suburban milestones like takes her children to school, give them trick-or-treating And Hosts of holidays in their new home.
“I’m so excited because the stockings will be hung in a place that you know will hang for years – we just decided for the first time where the tree goes, and we know from this day on it will going on here — all these cool things,” she said on the Dec. 24 episode Hoda and Jenna before she spends Christmas with her girls, her mother, Togetherher sister, Soand Schiffman. “We decorated our house with all these pretty things.”
