Whale TV introduces updated TV operating system with AI-powered recordings and voice assistants
Independent TV operating system maker Whale TV is starting to roll out a new version of its Whale OS that includes AI recommendations and a voice assistant.
Whale TV’s partners – which include more than 400 brands such as Philips, JVC and Telefunken – will be among the first to get access to Whale OS 10, although US availability has yet to be confirmed. According to a press release, the Singapore-based company, formerly known as Zeasn, operates over 43 million active smart TVs worldwide.
Initially announced in SeptemberAccording to a press release from the company on Tuesday, the updated Whale OS 10 features user profiles, AI recommendations and a ChatGPT-powered voice assistant that “allows users to interact with their TV in a more natural and conversational way.” The upgrades could make the TV operating system more comparable to devices like Roku and Fire TV.
“Whale TV helps users effortlessly navigate to their favorite entertainment, whether it’s streaming, broadcast or playing on a connected device,” the company says.
Zeasn was converted to Whale TV in September According to a press release at the time, it aimed to increase consumer awareness after being marketed exclusively to TV brands and factories.
Along with the operating system update, the company is bringing its free TV streaming service Whale TV Plus to all Whale TV devices. Whale TV Plus, which combines Whale TV’s previous rlaxx TV and Whale Live services, allows users to stream free, ad-supported television without additional sign-up steps.
