“We cannot describe what happened in Syria as the work of Türkiye”: Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan
In an interview with FRANCE 24 in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed his country’s position following the overthrow of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. Fidan claimed that Turkey played no role in the overthrow of the Assad regime by the Syrian rebel group HTS. He also said that Turkey’s interests lie with the Syrian people and that Ankara does not support any foreign troops remaining in Syria, be they Russian or American soldiers.
