Water on the Ellbogen – Bionicoldguy

I developed water on my left elbow. It is a painless but strange symptom. From a search on Google I found that this is actually “olecranon bursitis”: the Bursa or the lubrication bag on the elbow was somehow irritated or inflamed and collects liquid. I try to deal with my doctor about it, but I don’t have it in a hurry because it does not cause any problems. In the meantime, I will follow the web council to dike it several times a day and let the elbows rest. This means that for the time being there are no upper body training units. Fortunately, I can still get my cycling.

I had just learned about a new AI-based research tool that is part of Google’s Gemini as a “deep research”. You must start Gemini and change the model type in “1.5 Pro with deep research”. This usually requires a paid subscription, but you can try it out for free (I recently received a chromebook and a one -year paid subscription for Gemini Advanced was included). I tried this on topics of interest that I already knew something about and was impressed by the results. So I thought this would be another nice test case. I typed in the query “Olecranon Bursitis”. 23 websites were listed that should search as a “research plan”:

I could have edited the plan, add other websites to search, but I just met “Start Research”, and in a few minutes it came back with a report that I saved on my drive and you can read Here. It explained what the disease was, told me the symptoms, causes, diagnosis and treatment and gave me a list of documents in my area that specialized in this. Everything pretty useful. This is a fairly simple example, so I could have achieved similar results without AI on medical websites and then google “olecranon bursitis specialist near me”. But I liked it that it extracted a summary from a number of websites. I tried this with more complicated topics that would have taken longer to search manually and find that the report is a good lead.
