Volvo reveals its ES90 EV with an 800-volt charging system

Volvo officially started the ES90, the fully electrified version of its S60 sedan. While the vehicle can be considered technically as a sedan, according to Volvo, Volvo has the “adaptability of a fast back and the spacious interiors and the evacuation associated with SUVs with higher soil”. It is the first Volvo EV with an 800-volt system that promises faster loading times. Since Volvo’s 800-Volt technology uses lighter components to reduce the total weight of the vehicle, it can also lead to a greater range and better acceleration.

For the ES90, Volvo in particular promises a drive range of 700 kilometers or 435 miles, although the official EPA range could be shorter. If the model is connected to a 350 kW fast charger, the model can add 300 kilometers (186 miles) in just 10 minutes, and the 106 kWh battery can be full in just 20 minutes from 10 to 80 percent. All variants of the vehicle have a top speed of 112 miles per hour, but the version of the twin engine performance (all -wheel drive) has the fastest acceleration and can go from 0 to 60 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

The ES90 was built on the Volvo Cars Superet Tech Stack, just like that EX90 water. This is a single set of hardware and software, which serves as the basis for all Volvo electric vehicles and enables it to act as required via the air updates for all EVs as required. However, ES90 is the first Volvo model that is driven by dual Nvidia Drive Agx Orin Configuration that, according to the company Chief Engineering and Technology Officer, has ever created the “most powerful car (Volvo) with regard to the core capacity”.

Volvo gave the ES90 a slightly increased ride and hammer headlight design of the Thor and the new C-shaped LED rear lamps. It also equipped the vehicle with a number of sensors, including a lidar, five radars, seven cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors for its active security systems that can help drivers to avoid collision and dangers. Inside, owners can fold their three rear seats individually down to get more space. And while the panoramic roof offers 99.9 percent UV protection, buyers can select the electrochrome version that enables them to darken the glass and reduce the view of the touch of a button. The owners can access the model’s infotainment system on the 14.5-inch center screen display, which is equipped with integrated Google apps, including maps and assistants.

Interested buyers can now order the ES90 in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Volvo will publish it later this year and in 2026 in more markets.
