Smith and Moolaar said that it would reward a huge message on the site of the former Royal Mint Court in Hong Kong if thousands of political prisoners, including media mogul and British citizen Jimmy Lai, were arrested in Hong Kong.

Lai, who founded Apple Daily, which was no longer existing, was arrested in Hong Kong since 2020. The pro-democratic activist was accused of foreign agreements and conspiracy denial.

“Messages tell a story, and the story that tells this message is that it will be the largest outpost of the China Communist Party in Europe,” said Tugendhat.
Smith and Moolenaar asked Mandelson to pass on their concerns about the message to Parm during his visit. It remains unclear whether the Trump government of the British government has expressed a look at the British government over the planned message.

“We know that Prime Minister Starer has expressed the concern about Jimmy Lais detention and promised to make his release a” priority “in Great Britain,” they said. “We ask him to use his meeting with President Trump to coordinate the effects to achieve Lais unconditional release.”
In October Trump told the Hugh Hewitt show that he would secure the release of Lai. “100 percent. . . He will get out easily. ”
