Turki Al-Sheikh’s plan: Give Fury “some time” before comeback talks take place
Turki Al-Sheikh says he will speak to recently retired Tyson Fury about bringing him back. He says he wants to give “The Gypsy King.” “sometime” to be with his family before talking to him about fighting.
Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) may still be upset about his recent loss to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 in Riyadh. At the post-fight press conference, he was in complete denial mode, refusing to accept that Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) had soundly beaten him in his 12-round unanimous decision victory.
Childish reaction
Tyson claimed he won by three rounds and many of his fans confirmed this deception by saying the same thing. Interestingly, Tyson also felt like he won the first fight with Usyk. He just thinks he was overrated by the judges and is bitter about it.
The resignation was a classic, knee-jerk reaction from the “Gypsy King,” as if to say, “You won’t have me to fool around with anymore.” He’s in full soaking mode passive-aggressive to punish the boxing world for not giving him victory over Usyk.
It’s just so childish, but completely predictable by Fury. He wants his needs met through victory, and he cannot accept defeat with a rigid ceiling, like most mature adults. He can’t handle defeat.
“First of all, such a decision must be made by the fighters. As a boxing fan, of course I don’t like it,” said Turki Al-Sheikh talkSport Boxing about Tyson Fury’s retirement.
“We want to see Tyson in more big fights, but I can understand his situation. Little do they know, this type of decision can change over time. I will support him and talk to him about it. I’ll leave him with his family for a while and then we can discuss it.”
Attract the anger back
Obviously Fury will fight again. If Turki beckons millions under his nose for a Joshua fight he will be back and acting like his old self. Tyson loves money too much not to come back for the money for the AJ fights.
