The US president renews his threat to attack Iran “very hard” if the country’s security forces kill anti-government protesters.
US Senator Lindsey Graham shared a photo of the president Donald Trump He holds a signed hat that reads “Make Iran Great Again,” raising concerns about the possibility of another war with Iran.
Graham, a Trump ally and foreign policy hawk, posted the image on X on Monday and said that Trump had strengthened the US at home and abroad.

“God bless our Commander in Chief and all the brave men and women who serve under him,” the Republican senator wrote.
“I am proud to be an American. God bless and protect the brave people of Iran who are resisting tyranny.”
The hat, which repurposes Trump’s motto “Make America Great Again,” appears to be a reference to regime change in Iran.
The photo comes as Trump continues to make threats against Iran following the deployment of US forces kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduroan ally of Tehran.
The picture was taken as Graham traveled with Trump aboard Air Force One from Florida to Washington, D.C. late Sunday.
Previously, Graham had advocated for the overthrow of the Iranian government in an interview wearing the same hat.
The senator said Trump “has not turned his back on the Iranian people” amid sporadic anti-government protests across the country.
“That’s why I pray and hope that 2026 will be the year that we make Iran great again,” Graham told Fox News as he donned the hat, which also features an Iranian flag from before the 1979 Islamic revolution.
On Sunday, Trump reiterated his warning that the U.S would intervene militarily against the Iranian government when security forces kill demonstrators.
“If they start killing people as they have done in the past, I think they will be hit very hard by the United States,” the US president told reporters.
U.S. foreign policy officials, portraying themselves as supporters of Iranians’ protest against their own government, have supported Israel’s attack on the country in June that killed hundreds of civilians.
Iranian officials have rejected Trump’s threats and warned that they will oppose any U.S. attacks against their country.
“We will not give in to the enemy,” Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei wrote on X after Maduro was arrested in Caracas. “We will bring the enemy to his knees.”
In June, the United States joined Israel’s attack on Iran and bombed the country’s three main nuclear sites. Iran responded by firing missiles at a US air base in Doha, damaging the site without causing any casualties.
A ceasefire was reached shortly after the Iranian attack.
But last week, Trump threatened to restart the war if Iran tried to rebuild its nuclear program or missile arsenal.
“Now I hear that Iran is trying to resurge, and if they do, we have to crush them,” Trump said. “We’re going to blow them away. We’re going to blow them away.”
The brazen US operation in Venezuela has sparked speculation that Iran could be Trump’s next target.
