A freight train slammed into a double -decker bus in Mexico The authorities said in the early Monday to kill at least eight people and violate 45 others.
The crash took place in an industrial area with warehouses and factories in the city of Atlacomulco, about 80 miles northwest of Mexico town.
The civil protection authority of the state of Mexico said via X These authorities were still working at the location of the crash. The public prosecutor said she had opened an investigation.

The bus from the Herradura de Plata line was torn apart by the collision. The company did not immediately answer a comment to the Associated Press’s request.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City of Mexico, the train line, confirmed the accident and sent out his condolences to the families of the victims. The company based in Calgary, Canada, said his staff was on site and worked with the authorities.
City officials in Atlacomulco asked the residents not to go to the place of collision and offered the families of the deceased victims.

The authorities did not immediately state details of how the accident occurred. A video on social media platforms showed that the bus slowly moved over the railway tracks in heavy traffic when the quickly moving train suddenly appeared out of the frame and rammed the bus in the center. The swing of the train carried the bus down the tracks and outside the frame.
There were no visible crossing gates or other signals. Shortly before the crash, cars could be seen how traffic crossed the tracks.
Cars that drove in the other direction stopped crossing the tracks at the time when the bus drove on it, even though a motorcycle rolled over seconds before the crash. The train hit the passenger side of the bus.
Another video showed the bus in peace at the side of the tracks. The roof of the bus had disappeared and people were able to move on the top level when the train slowed down.

According to the latest report by the Mexico rail traffic agency published in September, accidents at the grades of the grade are most common and have been an upward trend in recent years.
Last year there were 800 compared to 602 in 2020, the report said. The document did not contain how many victims were involved in the accidents.
Six people died last month when a train in the state of Guanajuato hit several vehicles. In 2019, nine people were killed when a freight train hit a passenger bus that crossed the tracks in the central state of Queretaro.
