Tourism: Morocco records a new arrival record in 2024
Tourism will break records in 2024. In total, the kingdom welcomed 17.4 million tourists last year, a new record. These figures have just been announced by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
“The travel destination of Morocco will be hit hard in 2024. With 17.4 million tourists at the end of December, Morocco is early achieving the ambitious goal of its roadmap, which was originally planned for 2026.”the ministry announced in a press release. These figures represent an increase of 20% compared to 2023, or almost 3 million additional tourists, reports the Fatima Zahra Ammor department.
Furthermore, this positive dynamic is reflected both at the level of foreign tourists (TES), which reaches 8.8 million visitors (+23%), and at the level of Moroccans living abroad (MRE), which reaches 8.6 representing millions of arrivals (+17%). .
The balanced distribution between TES (51%) and MRE (49%) shows the constant attractiveness of the destination for these two segments.
