Doha-after Casablanca’s leadership of Mohammed V Airport, Marrakech-Menara Airport made significant changes to its entry-level security infrastructure and from Friday from the entrance points from the input points.
The national airport office (THEN) confirmed that these changes aim to reduce the lengthy queues that have plagued the airport in recent years.
“The coordination enabled us to rethink the control system and at the same time maintain strict security standards,” said Onda in official communication.
The office emphasized that additional personnel and devices were used to ensure quick and efficient service.
The changes come at a crucial time for the city of Ocker Airport, which has exceeded its intended capacity, as it became clear during the unexpected increase in tourist rates last year.
The airport, which originally worked 8 million passengers annually, processed 9.3 million travelers in 2024, which requires urgent infrastructure improvements.
In order to cope with these capacity challenges, ONDA has already introduced several modifications, including increasing the waiting capacity for arrivals and the restructuring of control zones for both international and domestic flights.

The airport’s modernization plans include additional projects such as the restructuring of the departure zone, the implementation of e-gates, adding new boarding goals and the construction of a new boarding hall.
These developments are part of Onda’s “Airports 2030” strategy, which aims to improve the travel experience and at the same time support the growing tourism sector in Morocco.
The improvements correspond to the ambitious goal of Morocco put on 26 million tourists by 2030, a goal that appears to be increasingly accessible when the country is preparing for important sports tournaments, including the Africa Cup of the nations in the course of this year and the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup.

This large operational change reflects a broader national initiative to modernize the Moroccian airport infrastructure.
