“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin’s husband, Emmanuel, is charged with fraud in a lawsuit!
Emmanuel Hostinthe husband of The view Co-host Sunny Hostin, is facing serious allegations in a new federal lawsuit. The orthopedic surgeon was charged with federal insurance fraud as part of one of the largest criminally influenced and corrupt organizations (RICO) cases ever filed in New York.
According to the lawsuit Emmanuel Hostinlisted as “Emmanuel Hostin, MD” is among 200 defendants accused of fraudulent practices by accepting bribes to perform operations and billing a company that insures taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers.
The lawsuit, filed on December 17, 2024, alleges this Sunny knowingly provided fraudulent medical services, including arthroscopic surgeries, and then filed false claims with the insurance company American Transit.
The lawsuit alleges that these payments were disguised as dividends or other forms of cash distributions in exchange for the kickbacks. In response to the serious allegations Emmanuel Hostins Lawyer, Daniel John Thwaitesissued a statement denying all allegations.
“Dr. I was the host denies every single accusation,” John said, calling the lawsuit a “sweeping, isolated, baseless lawsuit from a near-bankrupt insurance carrier.”
The attorney further argued that the lawsuit sought to intimidate and harass doctors who collect payments for services provided to people covered by American Transit.
John also defended Sunny’s He described his professional record as “impeccable” and stated that American Transit filed the lawsuit without properly reviewing Dr. Hostins work or raise concerns with their legal team.
“The real story here is one of an insurance carrier abusing the legal system to restrict and limit health care benefits for its insureds and their passengers and to write off its proper obligations.” John added.
The lawsuit, which seeks at least $450 million in damages, alleges that innocent fraud is a significant problem in New York. American Transit’s attorney stated, “American Transit has filed a lawsuit as part of its legal responsibility to combat this fraud.”
Emmanuel Hostinwith whom was married Sunny Hostin has not commented publicly on the case beyond the statement of his lawyer since 1998. It remains to be seen how the legal battle will affect both his career and his public image.
