The United striker defends himself against reports of talks with sports agencies
Marcus Rashford has dismissed reports that he met with a leading sports agency this month to push through a move from Manchester United, calling them “ridiculous”.
Several media outlets had reported that the 27-year-old striker had held talks with Stellar, the same agency that facilitated Gareth Bale’s £86 million move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid in 2013.
Rashford is currently represented by his brother Dwaine Maynard, but reports suggest he is willing to join Stellar to secure a move.
However, the England player responded to the speculation in an Instagram post: “Lots of false stories have been written over the last few weeks but guys this is getting ridiculous – I’ve never met with an agency and have no plans to.”

Uncertainty over Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has increased after he told journalist Henry Winter in an interview last month that he was ready “for a new challenge”.
The striker was missing from the squad for four consecutive matchdays after being omitted for Ruben Amorim’s Manchester derby, but returned to the squad as an unused substitute in Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle.
However, the United manager insisted after the game that there was no ulterior motive in leaving Rashford on the bench.
“I think about the team,” Amorim said. “You think about Marcus a lot. I think about the team. When I’m there, I don’t make a point. I just want to win the game.
“And you can feel that, I’m talking about the idea and the fight to stay in the league. Do I want to score a point during a game? No, I just want to win the game.”
