In addition, the resolution welcomes the signing of the “Abraham Agreement” Morocco- a number of highly controversial agreements mediated by the USA about the normalization of connections between Arab states and Israel.
The decision also states that Morocco and the United States have set up a “diverse partnership” based on strategic, economic and cultural interests and emphasizes that Morocco is the only African country with a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States.

The resolution also quotes the commitment of Morocco for global initiatives such as nuclear non -expansion efforts and the fight against illegal weapons trade. It also pointed to the cooperation of the countries in areas of regional security, fighting terrorism and military coordination such as the “African Lion”, a number of common military exercises between the USA and the royal Moroccan armed forces since 2007.
The US representative house ultimately called for persistent cooperation in areas such as trade, security, digital transformation and humanitarian efforts and supported the efforts to celebrate the long-term partnership in advance of 2027.
Morocco recognized the United States in 1777 for strategic and diplomatic reasons during the “American War of Independence” against Great Britain. In addition to the establishment of strong trade relationships, Morocco tried to compensate for European powers and to position themselves as an independent force in the Mediterranean and in the Atlantic.
However, the United States has strongly criticized in Morocco in recent years. Many analysts have increasingly have problems with the perceived history of America as a settler colony and their role when starting and driving wars and conflicts in the Middle East and beyond.
