The Rabat-Marrakech police arrested a suspect in connection with a drug trafficking and possession on Friday.
The judicial police, which were based on precise secret services, which were provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Monitoring (DGSt), successfully carried out the operation.
The 35-year-old person who has a criminal record was arrested near Tananansourt, a city on the outskirts of Marrakech.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie and led to the discovery of a considerable amount of illegal psychoactive substances, which pronounced concerns about the scope of the trade network.
The suspect was arrested when he traveled on board a cargo car. During a thorough search for the vehicle, the police found astonishing 14,185 ecstasy tablets.
After the arrest, the authorities carried out a search in the residence of the suspect in Marrakech, where they uncovered another 6,000 psychoactive pills. This brought the total number of confiscated medication to 20,185 tablets.
The suspect is currently being examined, which is monitored by the responsible public prosecutor. Law enforcement officers are working to fully uncover the details of the trading company and examine possible connections to wider criminal activities.
The authorities are determined to break the network responsible for these illegal medication and to ensure that the individual reasonable legal consequences are faced.
