The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl Lix to earn his second Lombardi trophy to the franchise. Previously, the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 to win Super Bowl Lii in 2018.
This is Philly’s second Super Bowl victory in the last three attempts that bring the overall record of the franchise to 2: 3 in a big game. It also serves as a revenge for the 38-35 win of Kansas City in Super Bowl LVII in 2023.
Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts was appointed MVP. He had a total of three touchdowns and 293 yards in the game.
Philly’s defense was remarkable. The unit forced three sales, recorded a pick-six and released Patrick Mahomes six times.
With a fourth and 2 in midfield in the opening trip of the game, Jalen Hurts completed a pass to the Wide Receiver AJ Brown, but Brown was punished because of the offensive pass interference, so Philly fell away the ball.
After a KC Punt, Philadelphia’s second trip was extended thanks to a somewhat questionable unnecessary roughness penalty over the defensive backback from Chiefs, Trent McDuffie. After a 27-yard pass on Wideout Jahan Dotson, the Eagles performed a one-yard tush print to achieve a 7-0 lead. The marked Dotson’s first catch since the first quarter of the Wild Card round.

The Wide Receiver Devonta Smith made a big game on a 3rd and 8 to keep another trip in Philadelphia. Kansas City forced a third standstill, but an offside sentence had it ended at the height of the quarter in chiefs with 7: 0. However, they would not benefit when Jalen Hurts only threw a selection later, his first INT has been ten in week.
The chiefs then stumbled again. KC started the game 0/3 in third place with three paints.
A 22-yard reception from AJ Brown made it possible for the Eagles to achieve a 48-yard field and set them up with 8:38 with 10: 0 in the first half.
It was a catastrophic start for Patrick Mahomes who opened the fifth game for ten with only 24 yards. He also threw off to Eagles Rookie Cornerback Cooper Dejean. This was returned 38 yards for a touchdown to bring Philly 17-0. Dejean is only the second person in the NFL story, who scores a touchdown on his birthday in a title game.
Immediately after a Punt Philadelphia, Mahomes was picked up for the second time to stop the Eagles on the 14 -Yard line of KC. Two games later, AJ Brown reached the end zone on a 12-yard crossing route to continue with 24: 0 during the break. Phillys 24-point half-time leader was the second largest in Super Bowl history.
KC gave up sacks on back-to-back games on his first possession of the second half, which led to the sixth punt of the chief game. After Kansas City had given up five sacks from Super Bowl Lix in the first 33 minutes, he had given up five sacks.
In the third quarter, Jalen Hurts began to do things with his legs. He recorded 30 meters on two runs to make it to the KC Four Yard Line. The chiefs put together a goal line, and a field goal Eagles made it 27: 0.
On her own side of the field, Kansas City could not convert a fourth trial trial, so Philadelphia was in possession of the ball on Chiefs 46 again.

KC managed to finally get on the board with a 24-yard touchdown pass to the Rookie Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy. They could not convert a two-point attempt so that they could only reduce Philly’s lead to 34-6.
Another 40-yard-Eagles trip were subsided with a field gate to extend the lead to 37-6, and less than ten minutes in the game.
Patrick Mahomes’ third turnover of the Super Bowl was a strip-sack fummel in the fourth quarter, which was recovered by Philly. That was the sixth sack of Mahomes, a career high for the three-time Super Bowl MVP.
Philly would only win six yards before Jake Elliott reached his fourth field gate of the game to make 40-6. After Elliott missed eight field goals in the regular season, he scored every field gate he tried in the playoffs.
Kansas City achieved two touchdowns and two two-point conversions to end the rating at 40-22.
With this victory, the Eagles prevented the chiefs from becoming the first NFL franchise that won three super bowls in a row. This is actually the second time that Philly has stopped another team from the triple flood. Coincidentally, the victory of the Eagles in 2018 against the patriots between two New England Super Bowl championships was trapped. If Philadelphia Super Bowl Lii had lost, after their victory against the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl Liii, the patriots had been the first team in the NFL to Drei-Torf.
Unfortunately, they ended the campaign for the chiefs with a 17: 3 record. KC only lost two games this season in which Patrick Mahomes began: the game of the 11th week with the Buffalo Bills and Super Bowl Lix.
