The Morocco Fintech Center is born
To accelerate the development of fintechs in Morocco, the Morocco Fintech Center (MFC) has just been founded. This new association, composed in particular of representatives of the main banks FM6I, Tamwilcom and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, aims to form a common window for Fintechs to support their development through training support, incubation, acceleration and skills development and to provide them with understanding the regulatory environment and to facilitate access to financing, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) states in a press release. The MFC will also foster a collaborative fintech ecosystem that fosters partnerships and networking opportunities while promoting research and development in financial innovation.
After its founding, members served on the MFC’s first board of directors under the presidency of Abdellatif Jouahri, Wali of BAM. Therefore, Mustapha Lahlali was appointed as the managing director of the MFC. The representatives of the members who will sit on the monitoring committee and assist Lahlali in discharging his duties have also been named.
