Rabat-Das Morockos Institute for Transport and Logistics Training (IFTL) announced a groundbreaking partnership with the world-famous research professor Rachid Yazami in order to start a specialized training program that focuses on electric vehicle batteries.
The strategic agreement signed in Nouaceur on Monday determines the professional certificate for the maintenance of Bachelor levels, a program at Bachelor level with which highly qualified technicians are to be developed that can carry out the advanced diagnosis, maintenance and security management of lithium batteries.
Professor Yazami, inventor of the graphitanode needed In lithium-ion batteries and recipients of the prestigious draper price of the US National Academy of Engineering, it is personally stipulated in order to monitor the development of the program.
“This partnership deals with the growing electrification of the transport and the need for local specialist knowledge at a high level to support the energy transfer,” said an IFTL spokesman at the signing ceremony.
The certificate program, which is scheduled to start in October 2025, is said to contain practical teaching methods such as corporate internships and practical case studies.

Iftl acts as a public institute under the administration of the Federation for Transport and Logistics as well as the supervision of the Moroccan Ministry for Economic Integration, Small Companies, Employment and Skills.

The initiative was set up as part of the “Compact II” program between Morocco and the US government via the Millennium Challenge Corporation to improve human capital quality in Morocco.
The institute focuses on the training of highly qualified specialists, who are geared through innovation, professionalization and close cooperation with industrial partners with the labor market requirements.
The step is part of the broader vision of Morocco to improve its transport system in order to increase the turnover of green energy in the country and contribute to international efforts to combat climate change.
