A right -wing Israeli minister says that victory for Israel will not come when Gaza “completely” destroyed “and the Palestinians are forced to other countries.
Israeli finance minister Bazalel Smotrich gave the explanation during a appearance on Tuesday at a conference on Jewish settlements in the West Bank. While Smotrich is a high -ranking Israeli civil servant, his statement does not represent the official policy of the Israeli government.
“We can explain victory in Gaza within a year,” he told the participants. “The Gaza is completely destroyed, civilians are sent to a humanitarian zone without Hamas or terrorism, and from there they are left to third countries in large numbers,” said Smotrich, according to Agence France press.
“Israel does not intend to withdraw from the areas that the IDF records, not even as part of a deal for the publication of hostages,” he added.
