The Foxes defend themselves and put enormous pressure on Postecoglou

Leicester City secured a decisive 2-1 win over Tottenham in a thrilling game, ending their winning streak in the Premier League.

Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss struck early in the second half to deny Richarlison’s first-half opener, leaving Spurs stunned and compounding their problems under Ange Postecoglou.

The game started with Tottenham dominating the game at the start. Richarlison, making his second league start this season, gave Spurs the lead in the 33rd minute.

Pedro Porro sent in an inch-perfect cross from the right and the Brazilian scored with a diving header, beating Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

Spurs continued to press, Porro hit the woodwork and Heung-min Son forced Stolarczyk into a fine save, but they were unable to extend their lead before half-time.

Leicester’s lackluster first-half performance gave little indication of what was to follow.

The Foxes tied the game just 58 seconds into the second half. Bobby De Cordova-Reid, influential in the second half, sent a low cross into the box that Tottenham’s defense failed to clear.

Vardy pounced, fired home from close range, scored his 10th career goal against Spurs and brought Leicester to life.

A few moments later the guests completed their comeback. De Cordova-Reid intercepted a loose pass from Rodrigo Bentancur and found El Khannouss in space.

The Jamaica international fired a stunning shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards, silencing the home crowd and giving Leicester a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute.

Tottenham searched for an answer, with Porro and substitute Mikey Moore both coming close.

Porro hit the crossbar with a thunderous free-kick from 30 yards, while Moore saw Stolarczyk volley home in stoppage time.

The defeat was their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, leaving Postecoglou’s side stuck in the bottom six and searching for answers.

For Leicester, the win was a much-needed boost in their fight against relegation.
